Easter Seals By the Numbers
It's difficult to translate into numbers the difference your donation can make in the life of one person, but the statistics can speak for themselves.  During 2008, Easter Seals served nearly 14,000 people through public health education and direct service activities.

The National Health Council has ranked Easter Seals first among its member agencies for the percentage of program dollars that go directly to providing services. More than 95% of Easter Seals Wisconsin's revenue supports services for children and adults with disabilities right here in our state.

Easter Seals Wisconsin services include:

• Camping and recreation activities at Camp Wawbeek for 1591 children and adults with disabilities
• New programming at Camp Wawbeek for teens and young adults with cognitive delays
• Direct assistance, information and referral services for nearly 500 Outagamie County residents through a trust established by the estate of Loretta K. Ricker
• One-on-one respite services for 815 children and adults with moderate to severe disabilities, providing recreation in a safe and caring environment and a break for caretakers
• Interactive education for more than 3,000 preschoolers about disabilities, promoting acceptance and understanding of differences
• Technical assistance for 452 farmers to allow them to continue farming with a disability.

Due to its strong financial position, Easter Seals is able to work to create new ways to address the needs of people with disabilities in Wisconsin.  They will continue to expand programming for teens and young adults who are making the transition from school to independent living and working, weekends for children who have a sibling or parent with a disability to provide support and a time for sharing with other children experiencing the same issues and feelings, respite services in new, underserved areas of the state and self-employment services for entrepreneurs with disabilities residing in the Green Bay area.
